FAQ
What do I do with my Spark Nano 4.0 as soon as I receive it?
Please charge the device using the included AC adapter for 6-8 hours. Turn on the device by holding down the power button for 3-4 seconds. The LEDs will flash to indicate the device powering on and attempting to connect to the network. Place the device on the dashboard of your car, facing skyward, and take it on a 20-minute drive to connect to the satellites and network.
What do all of these flashing light indicators mean?
Blue Light is GPS - When the blue light is blinking fast, it is acquiring satellite connection. Once connected, the light will blink blue at a steady pace, indicating that it is receiving location information.
Orange Light is Power - The orange light will blink while charging. Once the battery is full, the battery light will go off. When the battery is low, it will blink orange at a steady pace. If you have not charged the device for a long time and the light does not light up when the device is plugged in, please charge the device for at least 6 hours, and try to power it on.
Green Light is GSM Signal - This indicator blinks to indicate that the device has successfully connected to the GSM network. If there is no signal, the light will remain off.
How do I turn the Spark Nano 4.0 on/off?
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds and release. The LED lights will light up and become solid until the device is booted up, and then the CDMA and GPS LEDs will blink. Give it about 10-15 seconds to be fully booted up upon powering on.
To turn it off, you will need to quickly double-tap the same power button. You'll see the red LED lit up for about a minute as the unit is powering down. When that LED turns off, that means the unit is now powered off.
What is this big SOS button on the front?
The SOS button is ideal for personal tracking. A good example would be using it for a child who goes on a school trip. If they get lost, they press and hold the button for 5-6 seconds and, you'll receive an email or text message of the child's exact location. You can set up a "Panic" alert on the web platform. Please click this link to see the tutorial video for setting alerts on the platform.

How long will my battery last? How often will they track?
The battery life of any motion-sensitive device, like a GPS tracker, depends on how often it detects movement. The 1-minute tracking interval will give you around 13 tracking hours. You can set the device to report less often to preserve the battery life. When the device is not moving, the battery will last longer as it is not being used as extensively.
How do I extend the battery for longer usage?
This unit doesn't have a separate battery pack. If you suspect that the battery life is not enough for your particular needs, we suggest you use a different unit like our hardwired Livewire units or our TrackPort GPS.
I just charged my device and it isn't displaying 100% battery. Why?
All GPS devices transmit information when it is moving. The battery information comes from valid GPS messages sent from the device to our servers. The site displays the last valid battery indicator message that was received. If your device wasn't outdoors, in a good GPS area, or wasn't in motion, the battery indicator messages will not have been received from the site for the battery percentage to be updated.
Why isn't my tracker showing up on the map at all?
Please make sure the tracker is powered on by pressing the power button until you see LED lights lit up. Place the device where it has a clear line of sight to the sky and take it on a 20-minute drive. Remember that your device reports in 1-minute intervals so the device needs to be sensing movement for at least a couple of intervals for you to get a report.
My tracker shows several different reports within a 5 block radius. Why? Is this accurate?
GPS devices often drift when reporting their location depending on the surrounding of the GPS device. Every time the device sends a new location, it receives information from the GPS satellites. This calculation can differ slightly and buildings, trees, and the atmosphere can affect the quality of the location that the device provides.
My page is loading weird! Why is some information not displaying?

My street view map is old! How can I get this updated?
The street view is a feature provided by Google Maps who is our preferred mapping vendor. Google occasionally updates these images on their own.
I charged my device but it isn't tracking. What's wrong?
If the battery died on your Spark Nano 4.0 and you recharged it, you must also power it back on, as the device will stay powered off. Please hold down the power button up to 3-4 seconds or until you see the lights react.
